Press Release Summary = Atlanta Author Publishes First Reader Interactive Novel
- Sequel to Popular "The Legacy" Invites Readers to Become Characters in the ongoing Series of Novels -
Press Release Body = Atlanta, Georgia, June 29, 2007 - Angela Green, author of the popular "The Legacy," published last year, has created the first "Reader Interactive Novel" ever published, with the new Mustard Seed Publishers book, "Another Legacy".
The idea for an interactive novel series came about after readers of last year's "The Legacy" - recognizing that recipes are an integral part of the story - contributed recipes at national book signings, hoping that author Green would consider their inclusion in her next book. Green decided to thank them and use the contributor's name as a fictional character into subsequent stories.
Future recipe contributors will be immortalized in "The Next Legacy", "A Fitting Legacy", "The Best Legacy", "A Noble Legacy", and "The Sweetest Legacy" as they are released each year.
Treating thousands of fans of "The Legacy", a unique book set in Atlanta about the exploits of four senior women in their sixties and their gay male friend, who determine to create a legacy before they die. "Another Legacy", the sequel in their continuing friendship, picks up where "The Legacy" left off after Lily, the stalwart of the group, has died.
Lily has left her old friends to shape their lives in the wake of great loss, in search of their legacies. While a life well-lived - the so-called "legacy" of the first novel-recurs as a major theme, here the characters discover that it may take the death of a loved one to jolt the living into ordering their lives.
Summary . Janet, the dysfunctional psychiatrist, learns to separate more from her toxic bipolar daughter and gains the courage to enjoy her new relationship with her partner, Alice.
. Suzanne, the real estate agent, realizes that her current love interest just isn't meeting her sexual needs and finds a different kind of self-fulfillment in caring for her grandsons.
. When she encounters a major health issue, newly svelte Monica, (now 60 pounds lighter) finds her relationship with Josh, a Brad Pitt look alike and her "hunk-a-hunk-a-burnin' love," stronger than ever.
. Norm, a gay senior citizen and Lily's former caretaker and her replacement in the group, undergoes the most significant transformation, settling for nothing less than a fully committed relationship with a man and admitting that he needs to seek out the family that abandoned him as a child. Though 14 months pass before the four rekindle the intensity of their friendship, they come to learn that, while content apart; they complete each other as a group.
. Readers of "The Legacy" (Book I in The Legacy Series) contributed recipes, which were written into the story of "Another Legacy" along with the actual name of the contributor as a humorous or serious fictional character.
"It's a thoughtful psychological analysis of friendship and aging that's as appetizing as the included recipes." ---- Kirkus Discoveries
